April 25: The Perfect Date
Yay for April 25 being the perfect date :)
In other news:
I am still working two jobs. Though my hours are decreasing so it is no longer two full-time jobs like it was in March and most of April!
We are still in the process of buying a house.
I will be back once I am down to one job ...

Contradictions
Whenever I say I am not going to post for a while... suddenly I post.
Whenever I say I am going to try posting more... I just don't have time.
So I'm not sure that I can really say I'm not going to post for a while. However I thought I'd give an update on my version of this roller coaster ride called Life.

So I'm not sure that I can really say I'm not going to post for a while. However I thought I'd give an update on my version of this roller coaster ride called Life.
Currently:
- I am working a job where I provide intensive in-home therapy to families. The families have a teen(s) who is identified as "delinquent" in the court system or who is identified as a "sex offender" due to problem sexual behaviors. I see the families 3-4 times a week, in their homes, for about an hour or two each visit.
- In addition, I am the Medicaid Coordinator for the company - supervising about 60-70 cases who are funded through Medicaid. Those cases are in the NE area of Colorado, the Denver metro area, and the Colorado Springs area. Thats about a 4-5 hour drive between offices.
- Now, just recently add to that, I am starting a new job as of March 18th.
- I cannot quit the first job because I have to close on a house first ... see next bulletin
- Currently the house we are renting is for sell. They have a buyer who is looking to close April 15. We have to keep the house clean for continued showings just in case. We also have to pack up all our stuff in order to prepare to move. AND we have to go house hunting and arrange a close date that is close to but slightly after April 15. (Since our lease runs past April 15, we cannot close on our new house until the new owner of the house we are renting closes... if for some reason their close does not go through successfully - we are still obligated to pay rent.)
HOLY MOLY. I'm exhausted just thinking about it. They are all good changes and I'm very excited. They are also incredibly stressful since it is change but also because it is all at once.
Keep me in your thoughts and send positive vibes my way please!!!

Internship Response Art: Celebration
As an art therapy intern working with "troubled teens" at a community youth center in 2010-2011, I created an altered book full of response art to my internship experience.
This is my visual journey.
To end my altered book of my internship experience,
a page of celebration.
I reached the end!
Internship completed and degree in hand.
Now it was time to start the next chapter.
My first in my post-graduate-studies life.
Within a month of completing my school work, I was working at the job I'm still at.
I am a multisystemic therapist who specializes in problem sexual behaviors.
Its a mouthful, I know.
We just call it MST-PSB.
I am also the Medicaid Coordinator for the program.
And guess who I'm still working with?
"troubled teens"
:)

Internship Response Art: Thesis
As an art therapy intern working with "troubled teens" at a community youth center in 2010-2011, I created an altered book full of response art to my internship experience.
This is my visual journey.
My thesis was written on my anger-management art therapy group, which I created and facilitated for 12 adolescent females on probation for physical conflicts with their peers.

Internship Response Art: Count your blessings
As an art therapy intern working with "troubled teens" at a community youth center in 2010-2011, I created an altered book full of response art to my internship experience.
This is my visual journey.
A soothing spread - in response to a sleepless night.
