Happy Friday: # 1 Happy Mail

So I am feeling rather uninspired about Fashion Friday at the moment.

Instead, I just want to shout HAPPY FRIDAY from the rooftops. And maybe, a little less loudly, but still on the top of my voice, share something that makes me happy!

After the feedback on the Perspectives post about the things that make my day instantly better, I am thinking that, perhaps, you too would prefer this subject....

So #1. A happy mailbox makes me happy.

Some of the things I have received:

~~
From Katie R, a package of bird goodies which included

homemade bird book-markers.

an edited notebook with a handmade cover:

and some bird cutouts, which promptly made it onto my vision wall.

Some near the quote from my father's contingency letter.

Some near a nest of hope peace and joy. Over a little peaceful collage I made.

Another over a reminder to keep steady and balanced.
~~

An adorable handmade postcard from Kelly A.
She made it with old music sheets because she knows I love music and bunny's from a vintage children's book because she knows I love (a) bunnies (b) vintage goodies (c) children's book illustrations. SWEET. And of course she added just a hit of glittery goodness!

Thanks Kelly!
~~

One of my best friends wrote me a birthday card, misplaced it, and recently mailed it. It made my day! Happy Birthday to Me! (My birthday is in January)
She said that even though it was a parrot girl, that it reminded her more of a peacock, and therefore it reminded her of me. Getting this so belated, when it is totally unexpected is even more exciting than if I had gotten it around my birthday! I love it. Thanks M!

~~

Some envelopes that were as exciting as the swaps they contained....
What pretty colors. And I love the pink and green together, which is how I found them in my happy mailbox!

~~

Just yesterday, another AWESOME envelope arrived.

Inside, an AMAZING handmade and heartfelt card from Claire (she and her blog are both fabulous, please check her out if you haven't already!)

She decorated the back to boot
This now sits on my desk. I adore it. Thank you Claire!

~~
And then today, my luck continued! Another wicked envelope greeted me at the door.
Micaela (she too is an absolute doll with a lovely blog... please go take a look-see) took the time to make this card:
and inside, after a heart warming and wonderful letter, said "Forgive my attempt @ a collage!". Um... Micaela, no forgiveness as this is not an attempt, but an amazing and thoughtfully put together collage that I feel so lucky and honored to have received.
Thank you so much, and I really hope you had as much fun making it as I had discovering all its details!

~~

And outgoing:

I won't disclose to whom in case some haven't reached the receivers yet... I like these things to be unexpected!

A sweet little birdie with ribbon and card stock.

A fashionable card that I have owned for YEARs waiting for the right person to send it to. I loved it so much, it was hard to part with. But I'm pretty sure the lovely lady on the receiving end will appreciate it just as much!

A little gift for a recent blog friend. I would share what is inside, but the recipient would know right away that it was headed for her... so... I will keep you guessing as to the specifics.

A fabulously funny quote to brighten up the day of a solider serving his country in a war zone. Hopefully it makes him smile.

And last but not least, a little collaged note headed to my hometown.

Happy Friday everyone.

Name one thing that makes you happy!

Phoenix;
I LOVE LOVE LOVE a good mail day! So if you ever feel like sending some to Canada let me know! LOL. Those book marks are so cute! And I love that belated card you received as I have to agree with your friend that it looks more like a peacock!
Okay... I have a blog question for you... how do you add pictures anywhere you want on your posts? I can only add them at the top of each post????? I would appreciate if you can share your secret with me! Hugs to you and HAPPY FRIDAY!

Hello~~~~
I realize I always call you "Phoenix Peacock" because I don't know your first name.. Do you prefer being called by Phoenix?? On your last post, I didn't realize that ATC was for Art Therapist. I thought it was ATCs as an Art Therapy.. like for those people who heal through art therapy.. boo for me =)
All these happy mails must make you so happy! I hope you're having an awesome weekends !!

oh my. So many posts... I can't possibly respond to them each. (but hopefully you've noticed that I do return the favor and visit your blogs to leave comments there!). I am truly flattered by the compliments and that you took the time to comment in the first place!

Kelly, Kristin, and all, if you ever want mail. please just email me your address! it might take a while - depending on life at the moment - but you will eventually get it... and I like to think that it gets to you just at the right time and that the surprise of never knowing when it will be mailed is half the fun!

Sung Hee, I've thought about "coming out" with my true identity and am still himming and hawwing over it. So until I've come up with a decision and am brave enough to share my name... you may call me Phoenix Peacock, or Phoenix, or bird, or whatever is easiest for you... :)

wowza, your mailbox is busy! i love seeing all of the good things you've been getting and sending recently. "real" mail is such an art, and so much more exciting than an email. you are lucky to participate in so much correspondence!

ok, something that makes me happy. lots of things lately...today i passed by the most beautiful candy-colored house and imagined who might live there. lately i've been letting myself be creative. for so long i've been holding back, waiting for something, but now i'm letting it out. it feels good!
