Yesterday I went on an Artist Date with myself. I've always wanted to visit the Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave. There is a sign visible from I-70 that I've noticed EVERY time I've passed by. I remember hearing some good things about the museum, and when I saw a swap about photographs of interesting graves, I thought, what better time to visit Buff Bill's grave and snap some photos. I was a bit disappointed in the grave. It sounds silly I know, but I was envisioning something a little more remarkable for the flamboyant and loved performer. Maybe something beaded by his Native companions? I'm not sure what I was expecting exactly, but this is all I got:
Still cool - but just not what my over active imagination had in mind.
However, there were spectacular views of the mountains, of Golden, and of Denver.
The grave is free to visit. Adjacent to the plot is a little museum which only cost an adult $5 (its even less for kiddos). And this is a little GEM that is really worth the mention. Since I just took photographs and didn't take notes, I will let the photos do most of the talking.

What a quirky afternoon! Looks like it was fun and totally worthy of your day. These are the types of days I always remember!
At least you can say you have been there! I think it's pretty cool <3
Sounds like a fantastic date :) I love the photos! That view is AMAZING! I love museums so much and I think by looking at your photos I would really enjoy being taken back to the old wild west strolling through there. What a neat way to spend your day!
Very cool date!!!
OK, I'm not sure about the grave sighting BUT an afternoon out visiting a unique place sounds fun! Still jealous about these Colorado views ;)
I think that sounds like a fabulous "me" time idea!

such a unique place to go
and I love the view

First, good for you for taking yourself on an artist date.
Second, I had no idea that Buffalo Bill was buried in Colorado. Mind you, I don't know much about Buffalo Bill's life. Is there a reason why the stones on his grave are broken? And what is the reason behind the pennies? And thank you for the great view of Denver - again, I somehow envisioned that city to be surrounded by big hills and mountains. I learned something new tonight! Thanks!
