One of my favorite researchers, Mihaly Csikzentmihalyi (Chick-sent-me-high), is a source of inspiration for me. And today, as I feel worn out and overwhelmed with internship, his words remind me why I do what I do.
Perhaps you too could benefit from reading some of what he has to say?
"It is how people respond to stress that determines whether they will profit from misfortune or be miserable."
"To achieve excellence, we must first understand the reality of the everyday, with all its demands and potential frustrations."
"Even without success, creative persons find joy in a job well done. Learning for its own sake is rewarding."
and finally,
"To be successful you have to enjoy doing your best while at the same time contributing to something beyond yourself."
There. Now you've had your quotation fix. Or at least I've had mine. Now go out and greet the rest of the day with your head held high regardless of what life may throw in your direction.
PS. if you like what you read, I highly recommend reading more from Csikzentmihalyi. His name might be a pain in the ass to type into google, but I assure you, it's worth it.
