List-It Tuesday!!

Aimee started List-It Tuesday forever ago and I was so excited... I LOVE lists! However, I haven't done it yet. So I am pleased to link up this week... FINALLY!

These lists were ideas for Ashley's photography hunts - lists I suggested for the future hunts

Sunday Scavenger Hunt

The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You're encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge.
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive
  4. Link up to Ashley on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) - you can use the button above.
  5. Have fun!
1.  Black and White
I couldn't choose between a paper towel or some lights, so you get to see both.

2. I ate this...
I eat clementines out the wazoo... Seriously, I can buy big old Costco sized boxes full and they will be gone in a week or two (and I'm the only one eating them). The remaining from my last box are currently surviving as a centerpiece while they wait their fate.

3. Historic
Its weird not living in Colonial Williamsburg or Fredericksburg, VA anymore. While Colorado is full of its own history... it isn't as "everywhere" as it is in Virginia.

4. Off Center

5. The end.
Its hard to believe that I am entering my last semester of my 3 year masters program in art therapy and transpersonal counseling. I'm getting close to the end!

If you didn't participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items:
  1. In My Home
  2. It's beginning to look a lot like...
  3. Sweet Treat
  4. Time
  5. Everyday

Insomnia... shopping.

I didn't get to go shopping for Black Friday, not that I normally do, but still... so I made up for it in the wee hours of the morning while I tossed and turned wide awake.  I miss being a kid and coming up with a Christmas Wish List.

I stumbled upon the adorable Zoozjewelry. And decided that these would be great stocking stuffers:
Tiny Forest Friend Studs. I like the mismatching cuteness.

And from The Little Fox....
I love this pendent because a) BUNNY! and b) the girl looks like me too.

And some steampunked goodness from CosmicFirefly

and the perfect combo of owl and bunny (two of my favorite things!) from Just Little

and all these fabulous things from lulubugjewelry

Amazing earrings from Wild Spirits

Any and all of Konokwalee's store!

and Oh my Ayca!

Give love and give thanks - a community art project.

Want to see some of how I celebrated Thanksgiving by sharing a little love and thanks and art with my community? Check it out here.

I am spending my Black Friday hiking with the pups, eating yummy leftovers, and pouring over study materials. I have an exam, a presentation, and a paper all due Monday....

and then even though I'll still have two classes the following week and will continue to be doing internship, my school work and due dates of the semester will be complete!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Gratitude. Regardless, if you are in the U.S. celebrating or not, we can all take a moment today to give thanks for all that we are blessed with.

I will be starting my morning something like this:

My family traditionally makes Belgium waffles from a family recipe, topped with ice cream and strawberries for Holiday breakfasts.  Hubbs and I added celebratory mimosas! YUM.

wee Bit Wednesday

Its Wednesday... so I'm linking up to Leigh Ashley

{one} what kind of camera do you have?
i have a canon rebel - a gift from my adorable hubby

{two} you just won $1000 and you have to spend it on yourself on one item. what do you buy?

 on one item?
perhaps a telephoto zoom lens for my camera.

{three} if you had to choose, would you rather live with your parents in the same house forever or 5000 miles away?

there are positives and negatives to both. and honestly I think I'd be okay with either as long as the place 5000 miles away was amazing.

{four} is your christmas tree up yet?

 no.
I refuse to celebrate Christmas until after Thanksgiving.

{five} do you bring reusable bags to the grocery store?
yes.

{six} which would be worse: listening to the same song on replay for the rest of your life or having to eat the same meal everyday for the rest of your life?

I couldnt eat the same meal everyday.

{seven} name 3 things you are thankful for this season.

spending Thanksgiving with Brydon and Larissa (I've written posts about Bry before).
spending down time with my hubby (we havent had much of that lately)
all the dialogue happening with art therapists

{eight} do you dye/highlight your hair? if so, do you do it yourself or have it done at the salon?

No
but I have - and I've done it both ways

{nine} would you rather watch a movie at home or at the theater?

its exciting to go to the theater every once in a while
but at home I know I wont be around nosy popcorn eaters

{ten} would you rather win $1000/week for life or $5 million all at once? so I'm awful at math. but I after reading other peoples answers the 5 million is more. so I'd take that and then be smart and budget it.

tricky question. either way, I'm willing to accept the money now thank you.

Your turn!

Give Thanks Give Away

So I wanted to start this week with a give away. Monday has a way of getting away from me though.
Instead I will offer two today.

One of the things I am grateful for this Thanksgiving is my blogging community.  Your comments give me encouragement and love. Your posts give me an array of fabulous up-lifts, from humor to honesty, from inspiration to awe.  I have become friends and penpals with some of the bloggers along the way.  It is amazing to feel so connected and close without ever having actually met in person.

As a show of my appreciation, I'd like to offer a little give away. Nothing too extravagant, just some art I made on Sunday for my community project that I'm working on.

The first:
Two prints, approximately 5"x5" each. Give Love and Give Thanks.

The second:
A print, approximately 20"x12". Give Love

These are two separate give-aways for two of my followers.
The give away will be open until Tuesday, November 30.

To enter:

Mandatory:

Since this is a thank you to my followers, be a follower (I hate that word though...). New followers are welcome, but please follow because you enjoy the blog - not for the give away alone.

1. Please leave a comment below that includes a way to contact you if you win.

Optional Extra Entry:

2.  Spread the word. I don't often offer give aways, so I don't want anyone who would appreciate it to miss out.  If you blog about it, please leave a separate comment below with a link to your post.

Post Secret Sunday and some photos of our Saturday

Post Secret Sunday:
I like to make little bits of treasure for others to find. In fact, today I have to meet my class in the studio for several hours. and THAT is exactly what I will be working on!

Yesterday we went hiking along on a new trail.  It is the first snowy hike of the season.

This is the most creative poop sign I've ever seen

I've got the happiest little family imaginable. And we love snow. So all the more merrier!

Some darling cabins along the way.

And of course: the view.

Happy Friday #14: Happy List

I'm happy about a lot of things this week, which is typical of most weeks, but this time I couldn't narrow it down... so you get a list

1.  Some one FINALLY participated in my community project. I needed the motivation to keep going.  When I am excited about something I want immediate feedback. Waiting a week before getting a single response felt like a year. (Please Please check it out.... I'd love you to participate too)

2. The final season of the Tudors arrived via NetFlix yesterday! I've been waiting to get my hands on this... perhaps the theme of this list is getting what I've been waiting for.

3. The group that I am writing my thesis on is finally getting started. It is still in the paperwork stages, but hey... that is still exciting.  I'm in touch with probation officers, school interventionists, school principles, local artists, and local mentor programs to all get the word out.

4. Remember all that happy potential I wrote about last Friday?! Well... you have no idea how happy it makes me to be emailing recognized contributors to the art therapy field for feedback and ongoing dialogue about a couple of new projects. I woke up the Hubbasourus Rex one morning after an email from one of THE people I admire because I was squealing and doing a happy dance.  When he asked what was going on I found a book on my shelf that she wrote and just held it up to him... "SHE emailed me!"

6.  Its Thanksgiving time and I am reminded of all that I have to be thankful for. I am so grateful. Life is good!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

What is making you happy this Friday?

Give Away

found this give away over at LuLu's fun artsy blog. If you are a mixed artist you will be drooling - just a warning. I don't often re-post about give-aways but I REALLY could use all the goodies in this generous one.
Counting pennies means I haven't bought any art supplies since forever ago. And while you certainly don't need to buy supplies to make great art, I find having something new inspires me and I end up doing more with the old or with the found objects if I have some new things to use too.

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

Its Wednesday, which means I'm linking up to Leigh Ashley for a Wee Bit.

{one} what time do you normally wake up?
When I am good about sticking to a schedule, I wake up around 7 or 8 each morning. However, I'm a night owl - always have been.

{two} do you have a go-to song for karaoke?

Anything ACDC and I think trying to sing Bohemian Rhapsody with a group of friends is pretty hillarious

{three} if you could only see black and white except for one color, what color would you choose to see?

I would be so upset if I didn't have colors. Seriously - I'd have a massive hissy fit.

{four} what color best matches your personality?

Bright teal with plum purple and a streak of alizarin red. And maybe some teal glitter to top it off.
See... I need color.

{five} if you could choose one meal to cook better than anyone else, what would it be?

I wouldn't mind making the best Thanksgiving meal.
Even with just the two of us - it is still a pretty impressive menu.

{six} how many keys do you have on your key ring?

Two.

{seven} do you give your pets birthday/christmas gifts?

They each get one new toy and then some yummy treats wrapped up at Christmas.

{eight} when your plate has different foods on it, do you mix or not?

No.

{nine} if you could hire someone to do one thing for you all the time, what would it be?

May I please just have a personal assistent that has to do anything/everything?

{ten} when flying, do you prefer the window or aisle seat?

I love the window seat but usually request aisle so that I can try to stretch my legs out a little.

Now its YOUR turn.
