Tourist

This post is picture-heavy, just the way I like them! If you prefer less pictures, here is the summary: I graduated and then my mom and I went to the Denver Botanic Gardens. Cool.

First graduation. I thought I'd share a couple of my favorite images from the day:

All lined up. I'm the one smack dab in the middle in black and white.
These 13 girls and I made up the 2011 Transpersonal Counseling and Art Therapy class.
(The purple sashes were for the larger graduation but those who had them decided to wear them both days... I missed the memo and didn't buy one since I wasn't going to the larger graduation)

Instead, I handed out sparkly gold stars to everyone since we reached graduation in one piece and therefore deserved gold stars!

I was early and therefore decided to decorate the studio wall where we were meeting with a happy congratulatory message before the other girls arrived. The Hubbasaurous Rex was very proud.

He and the other partners of art therapy graduates were also very excited to have their spouses be done with school!

Then...
While my mom was in town we played a little bit of tourist to some of the Denver attractions she had not seen. First we went to the Botanic Gardens to celebrate mother's day!

All the tulips were in full bloom and the Gardens did a fabulous job of offering a wide variety to view and compare. I liked the darker composition these offered:

Careful of blue spruces that sprout Hubbasaurous Rex. They are carnivorous and may snatch you from the path.

The zen garden had a cool idea for a stone pathway and laid the stones so that the round parts stuck up rather than lay flat. When I own a home, this is what I want for a garden path. I love it, don't you!

Some things weren't quite ready yet. Still pretty, but it made me want to go back in a few weeks to see the next blooms.

One such, not ready yet item, is the crazy spike.
That will eventually grow a huge flowering stem that is taller then me. Such as the remains from last year's stem, as seen below

Something about gardens just feeds my creative soul.
The mixtures of patterns, textures, and colors.

That just make me ooooh and ahhhh.

So while I know this is picture heavy, please realize... you are seeing but a handful of photos taken :)

Mom and I went on some other really fun tourist dates, but this post is long and I need to feed a hungry household... so that will be for another post.

I'm so glad to be posting again (now that Blogger is FINALLY cooperating), I've missed you all so much!
