Give Love - A Community Art Project

My Community Art Journal is complete. I showed it to my peers and they "ooh"ed and "ahh"ed over everyone's work.

I'm still showing pages over on my Community Art Project blog {every Sunday and Thursday} until all the artists have had their pages highlighted.

If you haven't check out the pages, please do. Each artist approached the directives with their own perspectives and their own techniques. It is very diverse and very cool.

Meanwhile, I'll be back with a real post sometime soon. School is almost done (just 10 days, but who is counting)!

What is Your Calling?

Through Kindness Girl I found this. It is providing motivation, excitement, and a revival of passion on my side of the computer screen.

This was the best study break!

And now I feel so alive. So I thought I should share. After all, you should feel excited to be alive too :)

Bueller, Bueller, Bueller

Blog lovies,

I  know I've been absent.

I am sorry to be ignoring you. Sometimes life is just a bit much. I thought things would slow down in April - WHAT WAS I THINKING?!!! I have so much to do and am constantly doing 50 things at once.

5 weeks to go till graduation.

I miss you all. I'm sorry I haven't had time to visit and leave comments. I still think you are all amazing. I'm just exhausted and have no down time.

This post is a small break from preparing a presentation on my anger management art therapy group. My eyes hurt from looking at so many images that have Fuck You or Bitch written across them. So here are some oddities from my old inspiration journal that I kept during my year in between school. Man I can't wait to be out of school again! This isn't an art journal like what I keep now, where things are actually small pieces of art, but instead sketches, inspirational pictures, or whatever pulled out and thrown into one place for me to reference for future art making or just for future living purposes.

{Side note. The deadline for the Give Love - A Community Art Project was extended to April 22. So if you thought of joining but didn't have time, please do!! I need all the pages I can get and would be ever so grateful}

I have always thought that it is my gift for paying attention that has brought me the most joy.

This little etching hung on in my dorm room during my 3rd and 4th year of college. It was a glittery reminder every day.

Dan Millman is amazing. Go read him.

I have an obsession with drawing split faces. This is one of my favorites. I wish it was on art paper rather than on a piece of paper from a work orientation training.

 My love for Galliano.

One of my favorite pictures of me - back when I had short and highlighted hair. And a tattoo that I wouldn't get but yet it seems so me.

The schedule of my first day at Naropa University
Old sketches with thoughts about entering into my graduate program - a place that held all my nerves.

My mantra from Dinotopia.

I read this and could hardly believe that it was me writing. I love this. Its rare that I feel inspired by my own words rather than a quotation.
