Cute as a button

These are simple DIY baby gifts in the color palettes of the nurseries.
I chose to sew the buttons instead of hot-glue them, simply for longevity's sake.
However, no real sewing skills were required.
My sis just gave birth to Lilly on April 17th after 21 hours of labor - sheesh!
There have been some unpredicted complications, so positive and healing thoughts are much appreciated as the doctors continue to work on Lilly.

And a peer just had a Mother-Goddess Party (kind of a mix between a Mother Blessing and a Baby Shower) to welcome her soon to be baby boy, Luca.

It must be the season of "L"

Happy Friday: a little bit cute a little bit absurd

And I'm linking back to Paint Party Friday! I've missed being a participate with such creative painters. Please check them out for some artistic inspiration.

What I'm sharing is my cute and absurd garden table.
Its been in my garden for a few years. A black side table with a lean to one direction that I picked off the curb. And it remained black with peeling fading paint until just last week. The makeover started with white paint overall to give the thirsty wood several layers.

Then teal, yellow, and pink were added. Some areas aren't really all that great - I painted it at night, while watching a movie, in a poorly lit room. But I figure its for outside and I'm too worried about getting it "just so".

And then I added the magic. Beer bootle caps full of design and splendor using beads, sequins, glitter, shells, etc and pouring medium.

The bottom shelf will eventually be covered in them.

and Thats what's making today a Happy Friday!

Magic Making

To make magic, all you need is beer caps (and maybe a little beer too), beads/glitter/sequins/buttons, and pouring medium.

Little worlds of color, inspiration, and each unique.
The possibilities are endless.

Spring is here!!!

Some little green-thumb tips for as we start to plan our garden.

*Upcycle old ice-pop or craft sticks into plant markers by coating them with either pouring medium or clear nail polish to make them weather proof.

*Upcycle an old, unwanted, without a match, salt shaker to be used to sow small seeds for a more even distribution. I love this idea because the really itty bitty seeds are so hard to hold onto.

*Line the bottom of the flowerpot with a coffee filter before filling it with soil. It keeps the soil from going through the holes.

Bunnies

I am a huge fan of celebrating Spring, the new life it brings...
and of course, with the beloved nickname of Bunny, I love that bunnies are "in season"

With some vintage thriftshop finds I've introduced bunnies to the indoor garden.
Little succulents don't need a lot of water, so I didn't worry about drainage.

And another thrifted bunny is sitting on my wonky little outdoor table waiting to hold a pot of flowers come warmer weather.
(You'll hear all about the wonkiness this upcoming week)

And this little sign was a freebie on the curb.
Its not pretty yet, but it will be.
I've already got big plans for this little garden sign.

graffitied.

Look at that. I got tagged like a big 'ol canvas of a wall.
My lovely friend Angelia asked me to "be a good sport". I actually love answering random questions. I know some people hate it. I'm not one of them. However, I won't be tagging others - instead if you are reading this and you'd like to play along, well then I welcome you too.

THE RULES:

1.  You must post the rules.
2.  Answer 11 questions the tagger posted for you.
3.  Create 11 questions to ask the people you tag.
4.  Tag 11 people.
5.  Let them know you've tagged them.
---
1.  Which do you prefer - a stroll on the beach or a stroll through the woods?
either. as long as I can collect "treasure" or take photos on the stroll.

2.  Which of the four seasons makes you feel most "alive"?
I really like all four seasons. but spring might be the most "alive" time

3.  What song makes you cry?
My current play list doesnt really contribute to crying. I'm sure there is one, but I'm blanking.

4.  What art supply could you absolutely not live without?
I actually really like to play with a wide array of materials. And I adapt pretty easily. So I'm sure I'd survive :)
But what I've been using the most lately: acrylic paint, water color, gesso, and pouring medium, and "trash"

5.  If you could spend one day studying with any artist (dead or alive) who would it be?
ooo so many to choose from. going with first thought as best thought: Kandinsky

6.  Chocolate cake or strawberry cheesecake?
Chocolate cake with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. But the chocolate cake would be best if it was really moist or pudding based.

7.  What is your typical daily breakfast?
Oatmeal with either honey or berries

8.  If you could spend a week free of charge, anywhere in the world, where would that be?
France, Spain, and Italy.

9.  What kind of music is your car radio tuned to?
I have four main stations: Hard rock, classic rock, classical/symphony, and pop.

10. What is your favorite flower?
I dont really have a favorite. Though Gardenias were my wedding bouquet so I guess those. And lavender.

11.  Are you annoyed that I tagged you?
:)

Did you miss me?

I'm back. Things have been hectic, but I think I might be back on my feet. Did you miss me?
I missed you!
This is one of those boring posts with absolutely nothing to say or show. I'm just glad to be back... so look for a better post tomorrow! :)
