the hunt

Scavenger Hunt Sunday
hosted by Ashley Sisk

1. Warped

2. Concentric Circles

3. Gear

4. Glazed
Glazed was hard for me. So I went with pinecones glazed in sap, but then also, the swan feathers reminded me of icing, which isn't quite glaze but close.

5. Marble
I struggled with this one also and in the end decided it was a Honey Badger photo and I just didn't give a shit.

Better luck next week?!

I feel guilty and yet so wonderful.
My husband is currently enrolled in a very difficult class.
Therefore, he is very busy ALL THE TIME.
So our weekends haven't been full of our typical activity.
And though I miss our trips to the art museums and to the mountains,
today has been deliciously lazy.
I'm sure tomorrow I'll feel bad about not doing my chores or being more productive.
But today has been a summer's day.
Lounging around, taking long walks, editing photos.
Not getting a damn thing crossed off my to-do list.
I've been the on-call therapist today, but other than an interruption here or there... it's really been delightful!

Interpreters

A little more from Colonial Williamsburg
The actors in CW are coined "interpreters"
And there are more of them now then there have been for years.
For a while, due to budget cuts, there were just a handful.
But they are the best part about CW...
and CW got smart about it and added some more.
Much more.
Its very entertaining.
And they are a wealth of information.
Ask them just about anything from colonial days and these interpreters are on their game!

Sunday Scavenger Hunt... its been a while

Its been a while since I've participated.
But now that I found a replacement for the loss of Picnik... it seems time.

Playing along with Ashley Sisk and her weekly Sunday Scavenger Hunt

1. Travel
Recently, I went home.
I feel so blessed to call Williamsburg, Virginia my home.
Walking through Colonial Williamsburg instantly creates my calm.

2. Silly
This Colonial Williamsburg interpreter is making a silly face.

3. Black and White
Love the structure of these onions.

4. Spots
The gardens in CW hold a lot of my favorite "spots".
This one is the "most famous" garden - a lot of artists come here to capture the color.

5. Paper
Messing around with textures and got a paper feel

daydreaming of a trip to the mountains

Its camping season. Another fabulous season I love in Colorado.

A couple summer's ago I was gifted the hilarious book Backcountry Betty.
Full of hints like if you are camping and hiking in, "distribute the weight evenly (that is, carry your water, trail mix, and sunscreen, and leave the rest to him.)" (pg. 11)

roar meow

day of training
doodle entertainment
it gets a little weird

buzz buzz buzz
mumble mumble mumble

I hate saying "I've been busy" as an excuse for dropping the ball on connections.
Everyone who is 10 years old or older is "busy". Seriously. I'm not even joking. They really are - or at least honestly perceive that they are.
I myself often think I must be way busier than everyone else.

anyways. no excuses or complaining.

I've missed you.

take me back?
